Benefits the Arthritis Foundation, Benefits Me
As you may or may not be aware, I am a runner. I’m also on a streak, having run 1021 consecutive days so far. I also have arthritis. In years past I was a member, mentor and finally a long standing coach with the Arthritis Foundation Joints In Motion (marathon) training team in Seattle, WA. Ironically I didn’t have (or didn’t know) I had arthritis. Over the duration my mentors, athletes, fellow coaches and I directly raised nearly one million dollars for the foundation to aid the afflicted and fund research. Well that was about four years ago and now that I have arthritis, I think it’s about time to get back to the cause! While I’ll likely never be as involved as I once was, I now have the opportunity to do something again for the cause, something for myself.
On May 3rd, 2008 I will be participating in the Phoenix Arthritis Walk at the Phoenix Zoo. I would like to encourage everyone to participate with me! And if you can’t participate or if you are feeling particularly generous I would ask you to help me support the cause by donating and helping me reach my goal.
